Zazen in Kamakura

While studying Zen at the Dojo w Gudo Wafu Nishijima, some of us would sit Zazen on the streets of Kamakura, not far from the great Daibutsu statue. I mostly sat there with Nissim Amon or Kristov but sometimes I would sit alone. The offerings or donations I received, I put in a tin box in the Dojo kitchen, which collectively paid for our food and other necessities. I found that sitting in public for up to six hours at a time, standing each hour, had a very positive effect on my practice.
